Aston Villa’s hopes of signing Real Madrid forward Endrick on loan in January may have suffered a setback after comments from Alan Redmond, the head of football at Roc Nation, the agency representing the Brazilian youngster.
Villa have been linked with a potential move for the 20-year-old, who has struggled for minutes at the Bernabéu this season. However, Redmond has suggested that Endrick’s preference remains staying at Real Madrid rather than pursuing another move away from the Spanish giants.
Endrick future at Real Madrid discussed
Endrick joined Real Madrid from Palmeiras in 2024 on a six-year contract and made an encouraging start, scoring on his debut in August that year.
After a promising first season, the forward spent last season on loan at Lyon, where he continued to show his attacking potential. He scored eight goals in 24 appearances across all competitions for Real Madrid last season, according to the source, and registered seven assists in 14 Ligue 1 appearances during his spell in France.
Despite those contributions, Endrick has reportedly played only four minutes for Real Madrid in the current campaign. His limited involvement has fuelled speculation about a possible January departure, with Aston Villa among the clubs linked with an interest in a loan deal.
Redmond, however, has indicated that a move away from Madrid is not currently the expected outcome.
Speaking to Italian news agency AdnKronos, as quoted by Sport Witness, he said the financial side of a potential move was not the main consideration and that the player would assess the sporting project available to him.
Redmond also stressed his belief that Endrick has the quality to play for Real Madrid but needs opportunities to demonstrate it.
Roc Nation representative plays down January exit
Redmond acknowledged that Endrick’s loan spell at Lyon had gone well, while also referring to difficulties the player experienced and the frustration of not being at his best physically.
Nevertheless, he indicated that the intention had always been for Endrick to remain in Madrid.
Redmond said he believed the forward would stay at Real Madrid for a long time, adding that, although the clubs mentioned in transfer speculation were impressive destinations, he did not expect Endrick to move elsewhere.
Those comments do not amount to an official announcement from Real Madrid, but they suggest that a January move could be difficult if the player’s representatives continue to favour his future in Spain.
For Aston Villa, the situation means any potential approach would depend on how Endrick’s circumstances develop over the coming months.
How Endrick could fit into Aston Villa’s attack
Villa’s current attacking options include Nicolas Jackson, with Tammy Abraham providing additional cover through the middle. Young forward Brian Madjo is also viewed as an emerging option.
Endrick’s versatility could make him an attractive target. During his time at Lyon, he operated as both a central striker and a right-sided attacker.
On the right, Villa also have young options in Alysson and Ibrahim Mbaye, while John McGinn has featured in that area of the pitch.
Mbaye started Villa’s Carabao Cup victory over Coventry City, underlining the competition for places among the club’s attacking options.
Endrick’s ability to play in different forward positions could therefore offer Villa another option, should a transfer become possible. However, Redmond’s comments suggest that the Brazilian’s future may remain at Real Madrid for now.
The Aston Villa News BR verdict
Endrick’s limited playing time at Real Madrid has naturally encouraged speculation about a possible loan move, and Aston Villa have been linked with the Brazilian ahead of January.
However, the latest comments from his representative point towards a preference for remaining at the Bernabéu. That does not definitively rule out a transfer, but it does add uncertainty to Villa’s reported interest.
Villa have several attacking options already, including players capable of operating centrally and on the right. Endrick could bring versatility and further competition, but any move would depend on the player’s wishes and Real Madrid’s plans.
For now, a January transfer to Aston Villa remains speculation rather than a confirmed deal, while Redmond’s public comments indicate that staying in Madrid is his preferred scenario for Endrick.
